In 1993, Murray McMahon, the founder of Good Health Mart,  was ready for a career change.  Having been in the marketing and advertising field for 20 years, he was looking for a more meaningful  job experience.  And what better job than helping  people stay well.  He found a health food store for sale in Woodbridge, Ontario, changed the name to Good Health Mart and expanded the product line to include a wider range of quality supplements and services.

From the first, Murray says , “I set up the store the way I like to shop.  I want quality products and superior service at a reasonable price. “  His motto has been,  ‘It’s your money, not ours,  until you are satisfied.’  Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance.  As a consequence the slogan ‘Your satisfaction is our guarantee’ can be seen at the checkout of all Good Health Mart stores. 

Eunice McMahon, from the very beginning was a 110% supporter and part-time helper.  After retiring from teaching in 1998,  she jumped right in full time.  She is an indefatigable  figure at the stores helping managers, staff and franchisee members in every aspect of the day-to-day operations. 

Joe & Maria Aguiar in Cambridge became our first franchisee in 1996.  His daughter, Shelley is now a Naturopathic Doctor and operates a clinic in his store.  Next came Andrew & Elisabeth Krausz in Burlington and Norm & Dilys Prince in Owen Sound .  In 2006, John & Suzie Wensley took over the Collingwood franchise.  The most recent franchise addition is Daryl  & Ruth Prince in Hanover. 

On March 17, 2010, Good Health Mart purchased 6 stores from Planet Organic Health. Three of the stores were branded Planet Organic Living, and three as Healthy's Nutrition. 

Along with our first four corporate stores in Aurora, Belleville, Hamilton and Woodbridge, we invite all of you downtown Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Milton, Guelph and Brampton to come in and enjoy the Good Health Mart experience where we all strive to help our customers achieve optimum health.

Eighteen years later we are 15 strong healthy businesses serving our communities.  We think we are doing something right  Good Health Mart`s knowledgeable staff work with the customers to help them empower themselves to better understand and take control of their own health.
